A single mom from Ardsley, NY, allegedly faked having terminal cancer in order to scam her local community into giving her money before moving to Florida, according to the Journal-News. Shivonie Deokaran is now under investigation after GoFundMe and other fundraisers helped raise $60,000 after she claimed she had only 18 months to live when diagnosed with leukemia.
